Join Flinders Medical Centre as a Clinical Nurse - Data Manager ICU, where you'll combine your ICU clinical expertise with advanced data management to drive evidence-based patient care improvements. This unique role requires high-level proficiency with EMR and IT systems alongside strong data analysis skills to support our world-class intensive care unit. You'll work autonomously within a collaborative team environment, directly influencing patient outcomes through innovative data-driven healthcare solutions.
About the role:
Reporting to the Nurse Consultant Quality and Safety, this role is responsible for providing expert ICU clinical care while managing complex data systems and conducting analysis to support evidence-based practice improvements and quality patient outcomes.
Duties for the role will include:
- Provide expert guidance on the EMR platform to support clinical care standards and documentation integrity
- Provide education on EMR use to ensure proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care
- Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis,
- Assists and supports the Nurse Consultant Quality and Safety and Nurse Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities,
- Uses clinical knowledge and experience to evaluate and submit ICU data metrics
- Collaborate and coordinate services within the ICU multi-disciplinary team
- Act to resolve local and/or immediate EMR, nursing/midwifery care or IT service delivery problems,
- Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience
About you:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
- Post-graduate critical-care nursing qualification,
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team as well as autonomously,
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience,
- Demonstrated proficiency in critical care patient management,
- Experience in clinical leadership and operational management,
- Experience with quality improvement activities,
- Experience in evaluating the results of nursing research and integrating, where relevant, the results into nursing practice,
- Strong proficiency with EMR, Microsoft applications (Excel) and database management
