Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Manager to oversee our company’s data management strategy and operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of data across the organization. You will lead a team of data professionals, collaborate with various departments, and drive initiatives that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data usage within the company. This is a key role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement a comprehensive data management strategy that aligns with company goals and industry best practices.Oversee the collection, storage, organization, and access of data across various departments (e.g., sales, marketing, finance, operations).Ensure data quality and integrity by developing and enforcing data governance policies, standards, and best practices.Lead a team of data analysts, data engineers, and other data professionals, providing mentorship and support to ensure team success.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and ensure that data meets business needs.Implement and manage data management tools and systems (e.g., databases, data warehouses, business intelligence tools).Monitor data security and privacy to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, Australian Privacy Principles).Develop data models, data pipelines, and automated processes to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.Conduct regular audits of data systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.Provide strategic insights based on data analysis to support business decision-making and improve operational efficiency.Prepare and present regular data reports and dashboards to senior management, providing clear recommendations based on data insights.Ensure that the company’s data infrastructure is scalable and capable of handling future data growth.Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).Proven experience as a Data Manager, Data Analyst, or in a similar data management role.Strong knowledge of data management principles, including data governance, data quality, and data security.Experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, MySQL).Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel).Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load).Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of data professionals.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their impact on data management practices.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Desired Skills (Optional):Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science).Experience with data automation and machine learning applications.Certification in data management (e.g., CDMP, DAMA).Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra).Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.Knowledge of data modeling and data architecture principles.Benefits:Competitive salary package.Flexible working arrangements (Hybrid or remote options available).Health and wellness programs.Opportunities for professional development and certifications in data management and analytics.Collaborative and inclusive team culture.Career growth opportunities within the company.Access to the latest data tools and technologies.
