The key duties of the position include:As the Deputy Australian Statistician, Enterprise Services Group | Chief Operating Officer you will report to the Australian Statistician. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a full suite of corporate functions, providing executive leadership to the ABS, ensuring corporate enablers are aligned to the business of the ABS and its strategic objectives, and representing the ABS in high level cross agency groups, committees, and international fora.
You will be able to lead change, manage risks, and drive innovation. You will also demonstrate a high level of conceptual and analytical skills, as well as strategic thinking and sound judgement. You have awareness, and understanding, of the consistently changing data and technology landscape.
EligibilityTo be a strong contender for this important role you will excel in leading people, driving high performance, and building capability. You must be able to deliver in an environment that holds strict deadlines and an immovable commitment to quality. Whilst knowledge in IT and financial management is not essential, it will be highly regarded.
