Description

  • 2-Year Fixed Term, Full Time (35 hrs/week) opportunity
  • $136K - $157K base (plus 17% Superannuation & leave loading)
  • Full working rights will be required for the duration of the contract.
  • Sydney, Australia based.

The Senior Research Fellow will play a lead role within the Centre in the longitudinal analysis of linked national linked health data, in a project funded by the National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC). This project will examine the risk and determinants of cancer in women and children after exposure to medically assisted reproduction using Australian and international data. The position entails leading the development and conduct of sophisticated analytical plans and interpreting the results. It will require a willingness to apply a common data model to transform variables and to share syntax, and a high level of independence and analytical expertise.



Requirements

To be successful in this role you will:

  • A PhD in biostatistics, epidemiology or applied statistics, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated substantial experience in the management and statistical analysis of large complex health datasets including linked longitudinal data.
  • Highly developed independent data analysis skills and experience in the use of several statistical packages.
  • Strong understanding of theory and methods relating to the design of epidemiological studies and the statistical analysis of health-related data.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keep up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of an ability to achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
