Guerdon Associates is Australia's foremost executive remuneration and board governance consulting firm. The firm has experienced considerable success as advisers to the boards of the larger ASX listed companies. Innovative advice and a commitment to high service standards have contributed to our success, as well as a continuously maintained on-line database of executive remuneration.

Company History

Guerdon Associates was founded in June 2005 by Michael Robinson and Peter McAuley.

Michael had previously founded the Australian human capital and executive remuneration practices for several global firms in Australia and/or the Asia Pacific region, including Aon Hewitt and Mercer (where he was a World Wide Partner). He also led regional practices in the US.

Peter's career was mostly in banking, where he was highly regarded for his ability to get deals done, and his extensive range of contacts. Later, he led the Sydney human capital practice of Mercer. Peter has since retired from the firm. However, the number of partners has grown considerably so that its bench strength is unrivalled by any other firm.

On launch the firm was poisoned as an independent adviser to company boards. It eschewed conflicts of interest that may arise by also selling services and receiving fees from management. That positioning proved prescient, given legislation after the firm was created that ensured executive remuneration advice could only be commissioned and received by boards.
